Blind med knivbevis

You don't have to see...

Jens from Radulf group participates in E2014 in a very special way. Besides celebrating his eight birthday today, Monday the 28th of July, he is blind. This he said with a big smile on his lips.

Jens and his tent friends were awoken this morning by the sound of the birthday song - song by the rest of Radulf. Amongst them his brother Mads. Later that day his parents arrived with cake, each of which is a former scout/guide.

Radulf’s camp is build according to lines, so that Jens can find his way on his own. Outside his camp area it is only necessary for Jens to be followed by a leader or a friend to get around. Both parents and leaders agree that it does not require much for Jens to be able to go on camp.

At the camp Jens has, amongst other things been to activities in Ny Hedeby. Here wooden knives were craved, and Jens participated of course actively. As a Mini scout, he took the knife badge, and hence proved all prejudices about blind people not being able to handle a knife.

-I’m still able to hear and feel, the happy scout says.
